The Wight+Cramer Internship Program offers Northern State University students a paid, hands-on summer experience with Wight & Company, a nationally recognized design-build firm based in the Chicago area. Supported by the Cramer Center for Design and Innovation, the program places students in an interdisciplinary professional environment where they work alongside architects, engineers, construction managers, and business professionals as active members of project teams. Interns receive mentorship, weekly career coaching, and real-world exposure to design, innovation, and construction processes. Open to students from all majors, the program does not require prior experience in architecture or construction and is designed to broaden students’ understanding of how design and innovation intersect with business and professional practice.
